Shahrukh Khan’s father was Taj Mohammed Khan who belonged to a famous tribe of the warriors which was known as the tribe of kuthay. His mother’s name was Lateef Fatima and she was the adopted child and the only daughter of her father who was Major General Shah Nawaz Khan belonged to the Janjua Rajput clan and also served as a General in the Indian National Army in the control of Subash Chandra Bose.

Even before the partition of the subcontinent Shahrukh Khan’s father had migrated from a small town in the city of Peshawar which is now situated in Pakistan, to the famous city of Delhi now in India. His mother’s family had also migrated from a city now situated in Pakistan, which is Rawalpindi. The last of the eye candy posts, and (in my opinion), the toughest. Hindi cinema—and this is irrespective of era—seems to be replete with beautiful women. Offhand, I can’t think of a single leading lady whom I’d put in the `plain’ category. So, selecting the ten women from the 50’s and 60’s whom I think are the ultimate when it comes to sheer pulchritude was a very, very difficult task. But it’s finally done, and after having changed, rearranged and turned around my list God knows how many times, I’m finally done.

icc rankings

India has won the Mumbai test and has clinched the series 2-0 against Sri Lanka. India after the win are now no.1 team in ICC test rankings. Earlier they shared similar points with South Africa but with a difference in decimal points. With this win India is no.1 in test rankings followed by South Africa in no.2, Australia at 3 and Sri Lanka at no.4.

Now, India can be displaced from the first position in the test rankings if South Africa wins the upcoming first two tests against England. The second test ends on December 30. This means till December 30, India will remain the no.1 test team in the world.

This is the first time that India has become no.1 in ICC test rankings. Earlier only Australia and South Africa could reach the first position in ICC test rankings.

Triple centuries in Test cricket

Indian opener Virender Sehwag looks set for another triple century in the Mumbai Test against Sri Lanka. Here are some stats on triple centuries:

* Triple centuries in Test cricket have been achieved on 23 occasions by 20 different batsmen from six of the ten Test-cricket playing nations. No player from Bangladesh, New Zealand, South Africa or Zimbabwe has scored 300.

* The first Test triple century was achieved by Andy Sandham of England against the West Indies in 1930 in the first Test series hosted in the West Indies.

* The most recent Test triple century (as of February 25, 2009) is that of Younus Khan of Pakistan against Sri Lanka in the first Test of their 2008-09 series in Karachi.

* The quickest Test triple-century was scored in 4 hours 48 minutes, by Wally Hammond for England against New Zealand at Auckland in 1932-33.

* The fastest Test triple-century by number of balls faced was by Virender Sehwag’s 278 ball triple century for India against South Africa in the first Test of the Future Cup in Chennai in 2008.

* Brian Lara of the West Indies, Donald Bradman of Australia and Virender Sehwag of India are the only batsmen to reach 300 more than once.

* Lara’s 400 not out against England in 2004, his second Test triple-century, is the highest score in Test cricket and the only instance of a Test quadruple century.

Norwegian telecom firm Telenor will become the 12th operator in the Indian market when it launches its operations on Thursday, a company statement said.

Intense competition has been a hallmark of the telecommunications industry in the world’s second-most populous country, where it is driving drastic cuts in call charges.

Last year Telenor bought into a nascent telecom firm floated by Indian realty Unitech Ltd and it will launch its services under the Uninor brand in different parts of Asia’s third-largest economy.
